Help the Ray Family Rebuild After Hurricane Helene

Lisa and Howard Ray’s lives were forever changed when floodwaters from the Cane River overwhelmed their home. The couple was swept away as their house was carried over 400 yards by the rushing water. Miraculously, they survived by escaping through the walls of their home, but they lost everything in the process.

Lisa and Howard, now displaced and living in temporary housing, received no assistance from insurance. Their greatest need is financial support to purchase land for rebuilding. In their area, land costs average between $25,000 and $50,000.

The Rays have four daughters, who fortunately were staying with friends the night of the storm. However, the devastation reached beyond their immediate family. Lisa lost her best friend, and two of her daughters lost their father, whose body was found 50 miles downstream, as well as their stepmother, who remains missing.

Despite their own hardships, Howard, a volunteer firefighter in Pensacola, has remained steadfast in helping his community recover. Even in the aftermath of the disaster, he refused to leave, dedicating himself to assisting others.

The Rays are deeply grateful to be alive, but they face overwhelming challenges. Medical bills from flood-related injuries, the loss of their home, and the emotional toll of the storm have left them in desperate need of support.

Your contribution will help the Ray family take the first step toward rebuilding their lives by purchasing land to call home. Please join us in providing hope to this resilient family as they work to rebuild their future.
