We are absolutely humbled by the outpouring of support that continues to bless our mission. Your donations are allowing us to add fuel to helicopters, planes, and trucks that are working endlessly to deliver supplies to those in need. Donations are allowing us to fill gas cans, carry generators, provide equipment to the front line workers pushing the boundaries of how hard humans can work to fulfill their mission. These men and women are heroes. The heroes that could easily get down the mountains, enjoy electricity and running water, the things I take for granted while writing this. These heroes decided to stay, to work through the night cutting, digging, and clawing their way through all the destruction. This campaign and its success are not about us, it is about them and the people they are working to save.
As the funds grow, the attention on our campaign does too. We do not take this lightly. All funds raised, 100% and more, are being deployed in Western North Carolina. We do not have salaries, we do not have overhead, we have funds going directly to those in need.
The term grassroots has been used a thousand times to describe who we are, and it couldn’t be more accurate. We didn’t do this on purpose, we didn’t do this for recognition or to prove we are better at it than someone else. We did it because we saw a need. Your continued support proves there continues to be a need. We agree and we will keep pushing.
