Our week continued into Saturday, what we expected to be a calmer day, most certainly was not! We had helos in the air from the moment we stepped on the tarmac. Missions are critical at this point providing specific medications to individuals in needs, warm weather clothing as the seasons begin to change, and necessary food and water continue to be scarce in pockets of communities.
While the roadways are improving in the main areas, the terrain leaves many areas unable to move to supplies of food. Our helos have been very effective. As we mentioned, our goal is to move our supply to the west by truck and plane, allowing the helos to operate closer to the impacted areas. This began today with meetings with ground ops in the airports of these communities. We look forward to continuing to work with boots on the ground partners, streamlining our operations and working together for a shared mission – supplying life saving aid to those in need.
This has truly been a communal effort, with everyone playing essential roles throughout the community. We cannot thank you enough for your support.
