Today is officially one week since the launch of our campaign. None of us would have expected to experience a life-changing moment, had you asked us at this point a week ago. We have learned a lot – both positively and negatively. We have adapted. We have responded to every challenge that has been thrown at us. We have supported the community in a time of need with the determination to make a difference.
At this point, the mission is bigger than us. We are in the room with Senators, special force task groups, NGOs, large corporations, small corporations. We are connecting dots, people and missions. Our goal is clear: find the most direct path to providing immediate support to those in need. We have the resources, thanks to you, to solve problems.
Today we transitioned ‘home base’ to Avery County Airport in Spruce Pine. The proximity of this runway to the impacted areas improves our efficiency and ability to respond to crisis needs in the area. We will continue to operate out of this base, thanks to Ted Budd, US Senator, for providing a letter validating our mission and our ability to provide relief. We were joined on our mission today by NC Senator, Ted Alexander, who understands our mission and provided full support on the ground. Their willingness to get into the weeds, see the need, and support us is very valuable when dealing with the amount of politics involved in delivering on our mission. The red tape is real, especially in a regulated industry like airspace, but they have helped at every step of the way.
Please continue to support, share our mission, and pray for our team. Our mission is clear – continue to deliver on the promises we have made and continue to find the community members most in need of the support. We got this – we can make a difference!
