Your donations to our organization, Hope Mill, this week have turned a small non-profit into a legitimate player in the disaster recovery mission of our state. We have been in regular contact with state and local officials impacting where, how, and what is being distributed to those in need. Because we are nimble, connected and stubborn, we have fought through the difficulties agencies throughout the state (intentional or not) have placed on distributing aid to those that need it.
Throughout the week, our volunteers have been left scratching their heads. Wonder when the outside support would be so significant that we were not needed anymore. That help hasn’t come, and our mission is still critical for saving lives in our community. The supplies we are providing, because of your donations, have allowed us to be there for those that need it most.
Due to the astounding success of this campaign, there is no end in sight to providing the support our mountain neighbors deserve. We will be there in this phase of supply distribution, we will be there when they rebuild, and the programs we establish from this will be there to continue their success after they rebuild. We are here for them, and we will continue to be here for what they need.
Please share this campaign, share our mission, and help us directly impact these resilient families that have just suffered the unimaginable. We do not do this for credit, or media attention, or so we can spout out stats about how much good we are doing. We do this because we care, and most importantly because we can. We can save lives.
