At Hoodsly, community has always been at the heart of what we do. When Hurricane Helene devastated Western North Carolina, leaving behind widespread destruction and hardship, we knew we had to act. The mountain towns impacted by the storm hold a special place in our hearts, with many of our employees and their families calling these areas home. The damage has been devastating, but the overwhelming support from the community has been just as powerful, and we are fully committed to doing our part in the recovery efforts.
In collaboration with Hope Mill Inc., a local relief organization, we have been working tirelessly to bring life-saving assistance to those affected. We have been running extensive relief operations out of Lincoln County Regional Airport. Since September 29th, we have carried out hundreds of direct relief missions, delivering critical supplies and evacuating people from the hardest-hit areas. From getting vital medications like insulin to those in need, to rescuing the elderly and vulnerable, their team has been nothing short of heroic.
The Hoodsly team have spent days on ground support loading any helicopter that would allow us to provide goods. Many people in need received support. Hospitals without medicine received essential goods, babies without formula and diapers are being fed, and the water that is in dire need throughout these communities and was delivered. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Premier Land Development, whose generous financial contributions and boots-on-the-ground support have been essential in this mission. Their helicopters have played a critical role in ensuring that aid reaches even the most isolated communities. Without their team and aerial assistance, many of these life-saving efforts would not have been possible.
Additionally, we are incredibly thankful for the Foster Family Alliance of North Carolina and their overwhelming generosity. Their donations have been instrumental in providing much-needed resources to families affected by the storm, and their support has truly made a difference in the lives of so many.
As the recovery continues, our work is far from over. The road to rebuilding will be long, but together, we can bring hope back to the communities that have suffered so greatly. Every donation helps fund vital supplies, fuel for transport, and medical care for those who need it most.
